Geriatric Palliative Care

Geriatric Palliative Care will examine palliative care approaches for older adults living with serious, chronic, or multiple health conditions. Topics may include dementia, frailty, chronic illness, pain management, polypharmacy, mobility, and end-of-life decision-making. Experts can discuss approaches to improving comfort, independence, dignity, and quality of life among older adults. Geriatric Palliative Care will also explore communication with patients, families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams. Research findings and practical experiences from geriatric care settings may be presented. Participants will learn about strategies for providing compassionate and coordinated care. The track aims to strengthen palliative approaches that respect the preferences and individual needs of older patients.
